چکیده
A 62 year-old male presented to the chest pain unit with chest pain and nausea, reporting that the symptoms occurred one hour after dinner. His medical history included a foudroyant event of pulmonary embolism with embolectomy in 2012. Due to clinical deterioration and the history of pulmonary embolism, we decided to perform a contrast computed tomography angiography (CT). We could rule out aortic dissection and pulmonary embolism, However, CT

متن کاملPlatelet count and MPV, routinely measured but ignored parameters used in conjunction with the diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome: single study center in Iranian population, 2010
Background: Myocardial infarction is the major cause of morbidity and mortality in industrialized countries. Platelet count and the mean platelet volume (MPV), a simple and reliable indicator of platelet size which correlates with platelet activation, might associate with troponin in acute chest pain. Methods: We analyzed MPV of 851 patients who were admitted to Rasoul-e-Akram Hospital with ac...
متن کاملAbsence of Left Circumflex Artery: A Rare Congenital Disorder of Coronary Arteries
Congenital absence of left circumflex artery is a rare occurrence and very few cases have been reported in literature. It is a benign incidental finding; however some patients present with sudden onset chest pain mimicking acute coronary syndrome often resulting in detection of this rare anatomy on coronary angiography. Coronary computed tomography angiography is a relatively new noninvasive im...
متن کاملApical Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Presenting Mimicking Acute Coronary Syndrome at an Advanced Age
At the emergency room, advanced ages with chest pain and ST-T changes in the electrocardiogram (ECG) could be easily considered as acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and transferred to catheterization laboratory for urgent coronary angiogram (CAG). In our case, these patients were finally diagnosed as apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (AHCM) after urgent CAG subsequent to echocardiogram. AHCM is co...
متن کاملDynamic ECG Changes Mimicking ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction in a Patient with Acute Calculous Cholecystitis: A Case Report
Introduction: It is well known that acute cholecystitis can sometimes mimick coronary ischemia with similar pattern of chest pain and ST segment changes and T-wave inversions in ECG. However, dynamic ECG changes which are highly suggestive of coronary ischemia, in a patient of acute calculous cholecystitis is a rare phenomenon. A normal coronary angiogram established that the peculiar ECG chang...
